THE RULES
Eligibility:
The screenplay competition may be entered by anyone
throughout the world who is 18 years of age or older. The judges of the
competition, Midnight Evil
Productions and CCI
Media Group
, their
employees and immediate families are disqualified from participating in
this competition. Multiple entries (with multiple fees) by an individual
or group are acceptable. Each entrant assumes the sole responsibility
for determining this competition's legality in his or her place of residence.
Applicants may not have entered into any prior option or sale agreement
with respect to the submitted work.
Judging: Midnight
Evil Productions
and CCI
Media Group. along with a team of affiliated persons
will select the top 100 screenplays. A panel of industry judges will judge
the final selections. The judges (who are all well respected and vital
members of our indie community) will select four winners.
Standards for Judging: The judges shall read and evaluate each of the
100 final selections properly submitted with an attached valid entry fee.
Each screenplay, which meets the technical requirements, as set forth
in these rules, shall be judged on the basis of originality, thought,
passion and the desire to create a unique cinematic experience. This is
a competition of skill - not chance. The four most compelling screenplays
as determined by the judges will be the winners.
Technical Requirements: Each entry shall:
1) Consist of not more than
30 pages (20 pages is ideal) written in English. Submitted screenplays
must be in standard format typeset. Courier 12 point, pages must be numbered,
with margins not less than 1 inch. Screenplays must be 3-hole punched
and bound with brass fasteners (a.k.a. brads).
2) Please include a cover
with your screenplay providing us with your name, address, telephone number
and email address (if applicable).
3) The entry shall be accompanied by
two (2) SELF- ADDRESSED STAMPED ENVELOPES to be used for the acknowledgement
of receipt of entry and a second for either a list of the winning entries
(on request).
4) Entry submission:
a) Read and follow all the rules on the
Online Entry Form b) Include
a copy of your screenplay. c) Include a copy of the Submission Agreement
and Release form with your signature. d) Include a completed copy of the
Entry Form. e) Mail to:

entry as received and send you your receipt and confirmation by email
(if applicable) or in the SASE you have provided. Please tell us on your
cover page how you heard about the competition.
Deadline: Entries must be
postmarked on or before October
31, 2006
and must arrive at Midnight
Evil Productions, Inc. by November 11, 2006. The entries should be addressed
to Midnight Evil Productions, Inc. P.O. Box 425 Brea CA 92822-0425, to insure

are not responsible for lost, late or misdirected mail. Any entry posted
or received after the above deadlines will be ineligible unless Midnight
Evil Productions announces an extension of the competition.
Deadline for Determination of Winning Screenplays and Runners-up:
The four winners shall be chosen on December
3, 2005.
The successful entrants will have their screenplays
produced by Midnight Evil
Productions and CCI
Media Group,
on DVCAM after
they have received their qualification letter from Midnight
Evil Productions
and CCI
Media Group. If the winner's refuse in writing to accept
the prize, does not qualify by the competition rules or if we are unable
to contact him/her within two weeks, then the prize shall be awarded to
the first runner-up and if necessary the second runner-up. We will use
the address or email information provided to notify entrants of any extensions
and to contact winners at the end of the competition. Please notify us
of any changes in your contact information.
Publication: By entering the
screenplay competition, entrant grants permission for sponsors to publish
all or part of their submitted screenplay and to use the entrant's name
and photograph to publicize the successful entries - all without royalty
or other consideration.
Taxes / Fees: The successful entrant shall be solely responsible for any
and all taxes, including but not limited to any transfer taxes and fees,
income taxes, legal fees, or any fees of any kind imposed upon or arising
out of the successful participation in this screenplay competition.
Description of the Prize: The
Screenplay Prize
Grand Total $500 = 1st Place $200 - 2nd Place - $150 - 3rd Place
$100 - 4th Place $50. Midnight
Evil Productions and CCI
Media Group. will produce a feature-length DV motion picture (the "DVFilm")
based on the four Winning Screenplays. Subject to availability and contractual
or professional commitments, Midnight Evil Productions and CCI
Media Group. will act as producers and/or executive producers of the
DVFilm. The four Winning Screenplay Contestant (s) will be receive a 1099
tax form and are responsible for reporting there income to the IRS
and pay there own taxes . Contestant (s) will not participate in the future earnings of the DVFilm. Midnight Evil Productions
and CCI
Media Group. plans to seek distribution of the production
in all worldwide markets upon completion of the DVFilm, or at such other
time as Midnight Evil Productions and CCI
Media Group. determines
in its sole discretion to be appropriate. Midnight Evil Productions and CCI
Media Group. shall have all approvals and controls over the production
and distribution of the DV Film. Production is being presented "as
is" with no guarantee as to the success of the winners in regards
to distribution or to earnings expectations.
Extensions: Midnight Evil Productions and CCI
Media Group. solely
reserves the right to extend the deadline of the screenplay competition
entry, determinations of the winning entries and judges statement for
one extension period of up to 120 days.
Prize Transfer: All prizes
awarded in connection with the Competition are nontransferable and nonendorseable.
Force Majeure: Entries will
be deemed VOID if incomplete or illegible. Promoter reserves the right
to modify, suspend, or terminate the Competition and these Official Rules
if it determines, in its sole discretion, that the Competition is technically
impaired or corrupted or that fraud or technical problems, failures or
malfunctions have destroyed or severely undermined the integrity and/or
feasibility of the Competition. In the event Promoter is prevented from
continuing with the Competition or the production of the Picture by any
event beyond its control, including but not limited to fire, flood, epidemic,
earthquake, explosion, labor dispute or strike, act of God or public enemy,
satellite or equipment failure, riot or civil disturbance, terrorist threat
or activity, war (declared or undeclared) or any federal state or local
government law, order, or regulation, order of any court or jurisdiction,
or other cause not reasonably within the Promoter's control (each a "Force
Majeure" event or occurrence), Promoter shall have the right to modify,
suspend, or terminate the Competition or the production of the DVFilm,
as applicable.
Local, State, Federal and International Regulations: This competition
is subject to provisions of all applicable local, state, federal and international
regulations. This offer is void where prohibited.
Competition "winners" are subject to the approval of Midnight
Evil Productions and CCI Media Group.
